Since receiving her Masters Degree in Fine Art with distinction from Stellenbosch University (1999), Grobler has dabbled in a diverse range of media, embracing bright colour and often incorporating traditional craft techniques to create site-specific work. Her art is a conversation between image, language and daily life. She often collaborates with other artists and/or groups, such as for the public art project, Afrikkan Tähti, which was created in 2007 in collaboration Jeanne Hoffman at the Rauma Art Museum in Finland. Grobler co-founded blank projects with Jonathan Garnham in 2005. In 2006 she co-developed WASTE AT WORK – a waste minimisation business/art collaborative project - with Jeanetta Blignaut. She is currently working towards her eigth solo exhibition. She has participate in close to a hundred group shows locally and abroad - in Italy, Brazil, Germany, England, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Spain, USA and Finland. She attended residencies and workshops in America, Norway, Finland and Switzerland. Grobler is a part-time lecturer in Drawing at the UCT School of Architecture and art critic for Die Burger newspaper. She lives and works in Cape Town with her artist husband Norman O’Flynn and son, Storm.
